The weather is warmer and people are out enjoying the beautiful waterfront that North Bay has to offer. Sit back, close your eyes and envision you are there right now. You can smell the gardens, beautifully kept by the Heritage Gardener volunteers; you can hear the waves of Lake Nipissing up against the rocks; now you hear a whistle blow. It’s the Heritage railway train carrying children around the track, the volunteer driver smiling and waving to the parents watching. You hear the music of the Heritage Carousel and the laughter of the children and adults riding it, while the volunteers try to keep the excitement of those in line under control until it’s their turn. Sigh… now it’s time to go back to work so you walk through the newly finished underpass, right past the CP Station. Wait! It’s not the CP Station anymore. It’s the Heritage Station!

Located inside is Discovery North Bay, an interactive museum, formally the North Bay Area Museum. It is part of the Heritage North Bay family, along with the Heritage Gardeners, Heritage Carousel and the Heritage Railway and a very large part of the Community Waterfront Friends vision for the Community Waterfront Park.

The vision is for the Heritage Station to be the hub of the park, as the CP Station once was for all of North Bay. Tours will start here, information for all events happening in the park will be found here, the skating paths will begin here.
